Trump's Mar-a-Lago Valued at Over $12 Billion
Judge Finds Trump Overvalued Assets in Lawsuit
Defense Expert Assesses Mar-a-Lago's Worth
In a lawsuit filed by New York's Attorney General, a judge has found that Donald Trump grossly overvalued his assets, including his Mar-a-Lago Club. The lawsuit alleges that Trump inflated the value of his assets to obtain loans and tax benefits.
In a hearing, a defense expert testified that Mar-a-Lago was worth more than $12 billion. However, the Palm Beach County assessor had previously appraised the property's market value between $18 million and $276 million. Trump himself had valued Mar-a-Lago between $426.5 million and $612 million.
The judge sided with the Attorney General, finding that Trump had overvalued his assets. This decision could have significant implications for Trump's ongoing legal battles, as well as his reputation.
According to preliminary estimates, the latest value assigned to Mar-a-Lago is $31 million. However, the 2022 rolls have not yet been finalized.
