New assistance package includes military aid, humanitarian aid, and economic support

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Reuters) – Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced $1 billion in new U.S. support for Ukraine on Wednesday, including military aid, humanitarian aid, and economic support. The announcement came during a phone call with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. Blinken said the new assistance package would help Ukraine "defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity" against Russian aggression. The new assistance package includes: * $200 million in military aid, including anti-tank missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, and other defensive weapons * $500 million in humanitarian aid, including food, water, and medical supplies * $300 million in economic support, including loans and grants to help Ukraine's economy recover from the war Blinken said the United States "stands with Ukraine" and will continue to work to hold Russia accountable for its aggression. The new assistance package brings the total U.S. support for Ukraine to more than $2 billion since the start of the war.
